What the extension does

Supplement Compare is a Chrome extension that reads product information from Amazon listing pages you visit and lets you compare supplements side by side based on price per capsule, per serving, per 100mg, and Amazon ratings.

Data we collect

We collect no personal data. No name, email address, IP address, or browsing history is ever recorded or stored by us.

Data stored on your device

When you add a product to a comparison, the following product details are saved locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local:

Product title, ASIN, and Amazon URL
Price, currency, and calculated unit metrics
Amazon star rating and review count
Capsule count, mg per capsule, and serving size

This data never leaves your device except as described below, and is cleared when you click "Clear all" in the extension popup.

Data sent to our API

When you add a product, the product details listed above are sent to our secure API at api.supplement-compare.shop to calculate per-unit prices and retrieve live foreign exchange rates. This request is made over HTTPS. We do not log or retain these requests.

Foreign exchange rates

When you compare products listed in different currencies, live FX rates are fetched from the Stripe FX API. No personal data is sent in these requests.

Amazon affiliate links

The "Buy on Amazon" buttons in the extension use Amazon affiliate links. Clicking these links may result in us earning a small commission if you make a purchase. Amazon's privacy policy applies when you visit Amazon.

Third parties

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties. The only external service contacted is the Stripe FX API for exchange rates, and no user-identifiable data is included in those requests.

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

storage — to save your product list locally in your browser
amazon.com.au, amazon.co.uk, amazon.com, etc. — to read product information from Amazon listing pages you visit

Children's privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
